| Soprano
Emily Sinclair has performed in opera and concert across the United States.
At the Caramoor International Festival, she sang the role of Roggiero in
Rossinis Tancredi opposite Ewa Podles in the title role. While at
Caramoor, Ms. Sinclair also covered Sumi Jo in the role of Elvira in Bellinis
I Puritani.
Ms. Sinclair made her professional operatic debut as Valencienne in The Merry Widow at the DuPage Opera Theater. She has since performed with a number of opera companies, including the Utah Festival Opera Company, Kentucky Opera and Central City Opera. During her residency at Opera Colorado, she performed Donna Anna in the student matinee of Don Giovanni and covered the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor. She also sang Gretel in Hansel and Gretel in schools throughout the state of Colorado. Other operatic roles include Gilda in Rigoletto and Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail. Ms Sinclair participated in the 1998 Phyllis Curtin Seminar at the Tanglewood Music Festival, and since then has been an active recitalist. She has performed in recital with Lakeshore Chamber Music, Chicago Musicale, and at the University of Sioux Falls. Her concert work includes Stravinskys Four Russian Songs at Weill Recital Hall, Mozarts Exsultate Jubilate with the North Shore Chamber Orchestra and performances as a Virginia Best Adams Fellow at the Carmel Bach Festival. Ms. Sinclair has been a prizewinner in several competitions, including the Gerda Lissner Foundation Competition, the Washington International Competition and the Bel Canto Foundation Competition. She sang at Chicagos Symphony Center as a Regional Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Awards. Ms. Sinclair graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Classics (Distinction in the Major) from Yale University. She was awarded a Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music, and a Certificate in Performance from Northwestern University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
